Market Shopping

This afternoon I did some shopping at a local fresh fruit and veg market. It is out of my way but I love going there. It isn't just the wonderfully fresh produce on offer or the delicassies at the speciality shops, it is the atmosphere. It is full of grosers spruiking their wares, chatting up the older ladies, flattering the young ones. There are kids running around helping parents choose fruit and people discussing how to turn this week's specials into meals. Shopping at a market is much more than just buying food - it is an experience.
