Misty Morning

Each morning when I wake early to go for a walk, I struggle to get out of bed.  It is cold now.  I need gloves and the grass is crunchy with frost.  However the effort is rewarded when the sun rises over the mountains, turning the frost into a sea of silver and gold, and illuminating the mist rising from the lake.  This was my walk this morning.

I hope your day started with such glorious, heart lifting sights as mine did.  Happy Friday!

  1. WOW! Those are some seriously gorgeous photos! I especially love the 4th shot, where you can actually see the sun rays!

    1. Thanks Cat, not bad for an iPhone! I love my Hipstamatic app. One of these days I might get a real camera, but knowing me I would never remember it and all the photos would still be on my phone.

    1. Thank you Heidi! I might find getting up hard but it is always lovely having an early morning walk.

  3. Love your sunrise photos. Am quite jealous of your cold weather in the morning as still too warm here!

    1. The west coast seems to have stolen all the warm weather this year! The cold mornings are nice, but today is drab and I would love a bit of that sun.

  4. What beautiful photos - definitely worth getting out of bed for :) I also struggle more with getting up early when it's dark and cold (not that we have the latter here yet...) but there is something more rewarding about exercise in crisp weather. Plus, you usually get to finish at the perfect temperature instead of all hot!

    1. True Kari. By the end of the walk I'm all nice and warm, although tramping through the grass to get these photos did mean I had rather wet feet.

  5. Stunning, stunning photos. And oh yes, I'm so envious of the West's warm weather, as per the other comments!

    1. Thank you Hannah. I am feeling that us Canberrans are a little hard done by at the moment.
